A Forgiveness Letter to Yourself

A Forgiveness Letter to Yourself

Love is one of the most healing forces in the universe. It breaks down boundaries, brings people together, heals old wounds. Having love in your life is a corrective experience after trauma and neglect. Love brings us into vibrancy and flow. Love is a powerful and divine force that we all need to survive and thrive, and we gain as much by giving it as we do by receiving it.

As the global population polarizes more and more in the current political climate, we see that there are two main streams of thought dominating the conversation. One is insular and individual, caring about themselves and those with whom they identify over the needs of others, even if the needs of others are greater. The other is inclusive and sharing, open and compassionate, caring for a wide variety of people and agendas, some similar to theirs and some not.The second way of thinking sees that together, we thrive, whereas divided we lose our footing with humanity.

Although we are seeing a polarizing of political, social and cultural thinking happening around the world, it’s more true to say that we are all on a spectrum of having both ways of thinking in our wheelhouse.

On this annual celebration of love, let’s take this opportunity to examine where we stand on that spectrum and see if, through compassion and love for ourselves and others, we can move away from more insular and individualized thinking and move to a more compassionate, collective and inclusive way of seeing the world.

Blessings on your journey.
